During a search of the victim's room, investigators found a page torn from Rachelle's diary that was blurred with blue ink (see evidence bag). Using ink chromatography, investigators will analyze the patterns left by the ink to found out who may have used the pen or marker to blot out the diary page. Principles of solubility will apply.
Soluble - mixes with a solvent (such as water)
Insoluble - does not mix with a solvent.
Blue pens were found in the following rooms:
A) Room 19
B) Room 5
C) Room 9
D) Captain's quarters
E) Captain's quarters
