Mac.Robertson Girls' High School
In our final lesson on our Learner Model, you'll learn about how you can apply a growth mindset when you're receiving feedback. This is an excellent approach to hold in mind as you reflect with teachers and peers on your work in the lead up to your exams.
Today, you'll learn all about the ways in which Mac.Rob is, and always has been, a progressive institution, creating and suporting social change and reform to improve society and reduce inequality. Wear It Purple Day is an important date in our school calendar, and we use this day to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ members of our community. Don't forget to wear a touch of purple this Friday 28th August!
Today, you'll complete the Challenge Success Survey, which is part of our partnership between Mac.Rob and Stanford University. This survey will help us better understand your experiences at school and at home, so we can plan processes and strategies for supporting your wellbeing and learning.
Today, you'll attend a presentation by Amber Munro on the tertiary application process, including how to apply for tertiary courses, submit SEAS and scholarship applications, change course preferences, and understand the offers process.
We continue our Learner Model lessons today, with a focus on Principle 3: Explore and Expand Your Limits, and one of the strategies in this principle: Embrace Challenge. This is one of our favourite things to do at Mac.Rob!
Over the next four weeks in Connect, you will become more familiar with our Learner Model. Today, you'll focus on Principles 1 and 2, reflecting on your foundations for mental health, which are essential for learning, and establishing strategies for actively engaging in class in order to improve your attention to, and retention of, learning content.
