This page provides all the necessary information regarding the end-of-year work experience placement for 2nde students.

Following current practices in France, the Year 10 work experience placement now spans two weeks. While a single two-week placement within one organisation is preferred, two separate one-week placements in different organisations are also permitted.
Dates: Monday 8th June to Friday 19th June.
Location: Placements must take place in either the United Kingdom or France. No other countries are permitted.
Insurance: Students undertaking their placement in France must provide a school insurance certificate (Public Liability/Responsabilité Civile). This insurance is strongly recommended for all students, regardless of location.
Google Classroom: Students are invited to join the dedicated Classroom using code: gjy43sv
The Lycée only provides formal placement agreements (conventions de stage) for the official 2nde work experience integrated into the curriculum and held during the specified dates.
Any other placement, regardless of the student's year group or timing, is the sole responsibility of the family and the host organisation. In the UK, "work experience" is often offered without a formal convention. Students may also consider commercial providers such as Springpod or InvestIn (featured at our Careers Fair).
For independent placements, my support as Work Experience Coordinator is limited to:
Writing a Letter of Recommendation / Letter of Good Conduct.
Providing an Evaluation Form for the supervisor, which can be included in future UCAS applications.
Issuing a Placement Certificate (in English or French) upon submission of a placement report.
Mandatory: All 2nde students must complete a work experience placement.
Dates: Monday 8th June to Friday 19th June.
Independence: Students are responsible for finding their own placement. The Lycée will only intervene as a last resort.
Assessment: Students must write a placement report. A grade and comment will appear on the Autumn Term report (1er trimestre) of Year 11 (1ère).
Important FAQs:
The school does not directly provide work placements. Securing a position is an integral part of the learning process and must be a student-led initiative. The school provides methodological guidance and will offer targeted support to students who encounter persistent difficulties in their search.
GDPR: Due to data protection regulations, the Lycée cannot share contact details of previous host companies.
Organisations: Placements can take place in any productive organisation (private companies, public administrations, or NGOs).
Report Language: If the placement is in France or a French-speaking environment, the report must be in French. If the placement is in the UK or an English-speaking environment, students may choose to write in either English or French.
September: Initial introduction to students and parents by SES teachers.
Nov–Dec: Detailed presentation and support for CV/Cover Letter writing (in collaboration with the CIO).
3rd December: Parent information meeting (5:30 pm).
29th May: Deadline for signed placement agreements (conventions). Note: Only electronic signatures via Adobe Sign will be accepted.
8th–19th June: Work experience period.
28th June: Deadline for submitting the report via Classroom.
1. The Search
Students should contact organisations with:
A Cover Letter (see template)
A CV (see model on this site)
The Explanatory Note for Companies (available in English or French)
2. Electronic Signature
Once an agreement is reached, the student must:
Complete the online information form.
The convention will be routed automatically through Adobe Sign for electronic signature, following a sequential order: student, then parent, and finally the host company.
All parties will automatically receive a final PDF copy.
Note: If doing two one-week placements, two separate agreements are required.
