technology

As we prepare our students for the future we understand how valuable technology can be. TK and K students will be introduced to a variety of tools and platforms including iPads, Seesaw, Lexia and more. Most of these programs will be used independently by the students but can be used at home for optional reinforcement! A special thanks to our PFA for purchasing extra iPads for us to use this year!

Each program will have separate login information. The classroom teacher will email parents with login information once the program has been taught. Each online component will be introduced slowly so that students and parents do not feel overwhelmed.

** Please send in a pair labeled (with your child's name) of headphones (not ear buds) for your child to use in class with the iPads.

For distance learning, please download the ZOOM app and check your email for a meeting ID and password from your teacher prior to the first day of school.

Raz Kids is an online leveled library. Students are able to to choose from a variety of texts at his/her own level to enhance independent reading skills. Students can earn points and have fun "leveling up"! Classroom teachers will send home login information once your child's reading level has been determined.

There are 2 Seesaw apps you will need to download. The CLASS app is the platform in which your child will submit work to the teacher for feedback and review. The FAMILY app is what you will need to direct message the teacher and receive class notifications. You can also use the desktop version. Advanced readers can be challenged, while struggling readers can receive early intervention. Students will take a placement test before login information will go home. Please email your child's teacher for more information.
