LHS uses a form of debate known as Policy. Policy is a team of 2 individuals that use factual information and analytical arguments to win the vote of a judge in their favor. They compete against other schools during in-person tournaments. The people you will meet on the team are not only going to be your longtime friends, but will come together to form a true family.

Debate is an activity where you can finally put all those years of arguing with your parents to use. Even if you might be a bit shy or not a great public speaker, debate might still be for you. It will give you an opportunity to grow in public speaking and broaden your political scope. Debate is an activity that transcends race, ethnicity, age, athletic ability, or political views.
