May 26th, 2020

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. The weather was absolutely beautiful which provided many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. This week is a short one and we have adjusted our schedule in order for students to attend their classes they would typically participate in on Monday’s. Tuesday and Thursday will continue to host even period classes and Wednesday and Friday will host odd period classes. There will not be any office hours during the day on Friday however students can still access office hours each afternoon.

Next week we will close out classes and finish all teaching by Friday, June 5th. The week of June 8th will be a FlexTime Week to provide students additional time to revise, redo, and complete assignments. Students are expected to attend advisory each day. Our last day is Thursday, June 11th.

In these next two weeks, teachers and advisors will be communicating with students about the end-of-year grading options and answering any questions they may have. Students who are choosing to opt for numeric proficiency scores for all of their classes will need to complete a form online. This information will be sent out later this week.

Senior Updates:

To the class of 2020:

Your graduation will be on Saturday, June 13th, 2020. The ceremony will be held at Stowe Mountain Resort in the Mt. Mansfield parking area. The ceremony will start at 10am. We will send out additional details and guidelines that we must follow in order to hold this ceremony in person at an off-site location. We are also finalizing the process for cap and gown pick-up and school materials drop-off. Please continue to check your school emails and check in during advisory to stay updated on everything related to graduation.

As we work to support students, we want families to have the resources they need to provide support from home. This Family notification for Schoology resource can help with receiving notifications and updates regarding your student’s courses in Schoology. Schoology is our online learning management tool and we are relying on this as our main tool for communicating progress and class plans with students. Also, as we approach the first of May we are receiving updates from the college board. Please use this resource to stay updated on topics such as SAT, ACT, and AP exams.

  • Healthy Lamoille Valley, a community coalition working to reduce youth substance misuse and support healthy activities for area youth, is collecting key data from students in grades 7-12 as part of a requirement of the Drug-Free Communities Grant. This survey should be completed by the students. The information cannot be tracked back to any individual student, and we encourage honesty as you answer these basic questions. These questions will allow us to better serve the youth in the region. They should be completed by the students. Thank you for your time!
