June 2, 2020
This is our last week of classes before a week of FlexTime. During FlexTime week students can continue to work on assignments, redo, and revise work to end the year on a successful note. As we finish up our work for the 2019-2020 school year, students in grades 9-11 will need to make a decision by Wednesday, June 3rd about end-of-year grading. Students can choose to either earn a proficiency score for all of their courses which will contribute to their GPA or they can choose to earn a Pass or Pass w/Distinction option. Only students choosing a numeric score will need to complete the grading decision form that has been sent to each student in advisory and to their school email. The decision that the student makes is final and binding and can’t be changed.
This week we are also celebrating each other with a virtual spirit week to end the year on a fun note. Here is a description of each day.
Missing you Monday- share a photo of you and a SHS friend that you are missing
Talent Tuesday- share a picture of you doing your best talent
Wellness Wednesday- share a picture of how you are maintaining your physical and mental health
Kindness Thursday- take a picture of you spreading kindness
Spirit Day Friday - wear school colors, make a Raider Pride sign and take a picture
Seniors- Cap and Gown Day- pick up your cap and gown, put it on at home and send us a picture

As we work to support students, we want families to have the resources they need to provide support from home. This Family notification for Schoology resource can help with receiving notifications and updates regarding your student’s courses in Schoology. Schoology is our online learning management tool and we are relying on this as our main tool for communicating progress and class plans with students. Also, as we approach the first of May we are receiving updates from the college board. Please use this resource to stay updated on topics such as SAT, ACT, and AP exams.

- Healthy Lamoille Valley, a community coalition working to reduce youth substance misuse and support healthy activities for area youth, is collecting key data from students in grades 7-12 as part of a requirement of the Drug-Free Communities Grant. This survey should be completed by the students. The information cannot be tracked back to any individual student, and we encourage honesty as you answer these basic questions. These questions will allow us to better serve the youth in the region. They should be completed by the students. Thank you for your time!
