We read Chapter 12 and discussed how the setting impacted Charlie.

For example, this about what topic often comes up when Charlie is at her Aunt and Uncle's house.

We read Chapter 13 and discussed "Visualizing" the story while listening and what the "atmosphere" would have been like in both settings in the chapter.

We then drew a picture of what we visualized happened this chapter.

We read Chapter 18 and discussed whether or not we felt that Charlie's wish might still change and why she suddenly is wanting to change her wish after all these years.

We read Chapter 19 and discussed what we felt Howard could have been wishing for at the end.

What could be be upset by if he hadn't been wishing to get rid of the up-down walk before.

We read Chapter 21 and discussed the character Jackie. How is she similar and different to other characters in the book?

  1. Complete the "Story Sketch" on Wish (Page 61 in the document)

  2. On Google Classroom of the "Student Activities" complete page 7, where it asks you to describe how Charlie's character changes from the beginning, middle to the end of the story.

  3. Finally we watched a couple book trailers for Wish and discussed what main points would be important to tell a person to "reel them in" to make them want to read the book too.

  1. We watched a book trailer and brainstormed what Key Details we could include in our own Book Trailer for Wish. We recorded our ideas on a graphic organizer.

    1. Think about phrasing things as a question to avoid spoiling the book.

Example. Charlie has been making wishes since she was in fourth grade.... Will her wish ever come true?
