Air Force Junior ROTC: Your step to success!
MA-771 is a nationally recognized program because of the great things it accomplishes! Besides a fantastic marching program, the unit has a robust and diverse selection of before and after school activities where the cadets HAVE FUN! It is not uncommon for the Instructors to have to ask Red Raider Cadets to please let them go home after school! Your interests can be academic, community, or physically inclined and your Lowell High School AFJROTC program can provide for your need of belonging to a FAMILY!
The Air Force Junior ROTC program is designed to provide High School students with the opportunity to grow in their academic and extra-curricular endeavors! MA-771 is proud to offer the following activities to all interested incoming Freshman:
Field Trips: most 1st-year Cadets participate in 1-2 field trips

Academic Team: AFJROTC cadets have the option to participate on the Junior ROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) team with an opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. if they qualify for the finals

Armed or Unarmed Drill Team: Cadets dedicate themselves to the Nationally-ranked Lady Raiders or Red Raider Guard drill teams and seasonal local and National competitions (Ohio or Florida)

Color Guard: Cadets can learn how to present and march with our National Emblem, the United States Flag at ceremonies and local events
Cyber Patriot: Cadets compete locally and Nationally in cyber security competitions. There is a free AFJROTC-specific academy (Cyber Academy) held annually for cadets who are interested in learning about cyber security and who wish to earn college credit

Flag Detail: Cadets can learn how to present and raise our National Emblem, the United States Flag on Thursdays during a flag-raising ceremony at the AFJROTC Courtyard flag pole
Honor Guard: Once you have proven your uniform and drill proficiencies, you may try out for our prestigious Honor Guard! Honor Guard cadets perform at ceremonies, special events, and at professional sports games (Red Sox/Boston Celtics/New England Revolution/Boston Bruins)

Raiders: The Raider program is our newest and most challenging Leadership Development Requirement (LDR). This extremely physical, mentally challenging team event places you on a team of never-quit, goal-oriented cadets who tackle physical challenges at local and national meets

Flight Simulator Club: The Flight Sim club uses leading industry flight simulator software and hardware to provide cadets the opportunity to practice the art of flying!
