LYRICS is Longmeadow High School's honors level auditioned SATB choir. Auditions are held each April for the coming year's ensemble. Members enjoy creating community and working at a high level of challenge. Attention is given to the development of individual vocal technique and musicianship skills. Students perform repertoire from past and present, from all over the world. Lyrics performs in LHS concerts and tours nationally and internationally.

For 8th graders, “I know a young maiden” may be ordered ($1.95) from Gerry’s Music (534-7402) and it will be delivered to your school music teacher.
LHS students may purchase a copy at school ($1.95) from Mrs. Forest.

AUDITION CRITERIA & RESULTS
Auditions are judged on the following criteria
Scale & Interval: intonation + tone quality
Quartet: accuracy + tone quality + intonation + expressiveness
Solo: accuracy + tone quality + intonation + expressiveness
Sight reading level: pitches + rhythms + ability to recover
Current grade 8-11 + proven work ethic (or MS teacher endorsement)
