Recovery isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential for athletes at every level. Without it, your body can’t rebuild, and your performance (and health) will suffer. Whether you're pushing hard in practice, competing on game day, or grinding in the weight room, what you do AFTER matters just as much as the work itself.
Here’s what REAL recovery looks like:
You need 8–10 hours of sleep every night to recharge your body and brain. Yes—every night! This is when your body repairs itself.
Fuel up! Proper food choices replenish energy and repair muscle after training. Think protein, carbs, hydration—and skip the junk!
Take it easy, but don’t stop moving. Light activity like walking, swimming, or biking helps your body flush out waste and rebuild faster.
Your mind matters too. Try mindfulness, breathing exercises, or even hobbies you enjoy. Stress recovery is just as important as physical recovery.
👉 Bottom line: If you don’t recover, you won’t perform your best. And worse—you’re more likely to get injured. Take care of your body now so it takes care of you when it counts.
Rule of thumb: consume 80-100oz of water/day!
