The purpose of this handbook is to define, express, and reinforce the positive culture we celebrate at Lake Stevens High School. As we begin and continue our journey together, we invite you to review the following guiding principles that help shape how your student leadership team serves you this year.
Greetings Viking Students and Families,
Welcome, Vikings! The 2026-27 school year is here, and with it comes the opportunity to embrace new challenges, opportunities, pursue passions and create memories that will last a lifetime. We are excited to get started!
One of the best ways to make the most of your high school experience is to get connected through the 4A’s: Academics, Arts, Activities, and Athletics. Together, these areas provide the anchors of a well-rounded high school journey. While every Viking is called to grow through Academics on the path to graduation and future success, the Arts, Activities, and Athletics open doors for students to pursue passions, develop talents, and strengthen their sense of belonging in our community.
At LSHS, the Viking Way - being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready - guides how we learn, lead, and live together. Our commitment is to honor and celebrate diversity, foster a culture of dignity, and ensure that every student feels welcomed, seen, and supported. Our staff are dedicated to building meaningful relationships and creating classrooms where curiosity and achievement thrive.
This Student & Family Handbook serves as a resource for understanding how our school operates day-to-day, while also highlighting the shared responsibilities that make our learning community successful. It is designed to help families and students navigate expectations and opportunities with clarity and confidence.
As your principal, I am both honored and grateful to serve this incredible school. Each year brings a renewed sense of purpose and possibility, and I am proud to lead a team committed to preparing all students for the future - whether that means college, career, or civic life. Together, we will continue to strive for academic excellence, personal growth, and a vibrant school culture.
It’s always a great day to be a Viking!
My Viking Best,
Leslie Ivelia
Hey Vikings!
I am so thrilled that I get the chance to welcome you to Lake Stevens High School for the 2026-2027 school year! My name is Kaysa Banks and I have been given the opportunity and privilege to serve as your Executive ASB President alongside my beautiful team of Execs! I have been touched with the Lake Stevens magic when I moved here in 2020 and I can say that this place just has something that others just don’t have. Even though I did not get the chance to have the Viking pride growing up I am glad that I am now accepted into a wondrous community. A school that is filled with a caring staff and dedicated student body with the opportunities that our school gives us is truly a dream. I hope that this year we are all able to achieve the goals to make this year the best one yet!
I can only speak for myself to say that I hope that this year is going to be a great one! Whether you are in any of the 4A’s or not LSHS is a place where you can belong. My team and I are thrilled to be a part of your Lake Stevens journey and I can say personally I am so glad that you are able to be part of this amazing community. Being a Viking is a great responsibity that I know that we will wear and use responsibly. The motto my team came up with this year is Make It Matter! Everything you do and everything that goes around you we want to make it matter. Thank you all so much for giving me this opportunity to represent our school with pride!
Go Viks!
With much love,
Kaysa
