Coordinated Entry System
Individuals and families seeking shelter or living outside or in places not meant for people to live in can apply for housing through the Coordinated Entry system, which is designed to streamline access to housing, and supportive services.

Heartland Connect is a mobile app that helps collect and track street outreach data for people experiencing homelessness in Springfield and Sangamon County. It makes it easier for people who need help, outreach workers, and community members to connect with services and resources.
Community members can report on non-emergency needs or areas where support may be needed.
People looking for shelter, food, healthcare, or someone to talk to can use the app to connect with outreach teams, more than 120 local resources, and the Heartland Continuum of Care Community Calendar.

Community Action Agencies may assist with rental/mortgage, food, employment training/placement, financial management, energy assistance (LIHEAP), and temporary shelter.
