LCA Library
The LCA library, located in Beaman 207B, is a continually growing collection of over 3,000 non-circulating, archaeology and archaeology-related resources that includes books, journals, and periodicals. It also houses the libraries of our faculty, whose books may not be checked out. There is also a small section of the 3,000 LCA books that may not be checked out, which is marked by a sign.
Access to this collection is limited to the faculty and students of the archaeology program and for those students enrolled in archaeology courses. Access may be granted to those who are not part of these groups upon request by they contacting archaeology@lipscomb.edu.
If you have any questions, please contact archaeology@lipscomb.edu.
Catalog
Since the LCA library is not part of the Lipscomb library collection, the LCA catalog is hosted on a separate database known as LibraryThing.
To access the LCA catalog, please visit librarything.com/catalog/LCArchaeology
Once there, you can do a search using the search bar in the top right corner that says "Search Your Library" (in neon green in the picture below). Be sure to use the correct search bar, as there is another one in the top right corner labeled "Search LibraryThing" (marked out in red in the picture below). If you use the "Search LibraryThing" bar, your results will include EVERYONE who uses the service of LibraryThing and your results will be misleading.
Please keep in mind that the LCA does not have a librarian and so the catalog contains minimal information. That means that while all the catalogued titles should be correct, as well as the check out listings, there may be pieces missing or that need updating in other areas, including call numbers, authors, publication information, and search words.
If you have any problems locating a resource that our catalog says is on the shelf, please contact archaeology@lipscomb.edu.
