The Lanier Center for Archaeology (LCA), established in 2020, stands at the intersection of rigorous archaeological research and biblical historical studies. As the successor to the well-known Tandy Institute for Archaeology, it is now the largest evangelical center for biblical archaeology. As a premier research institute, the LCA conducts groundbreaking fieldwork across the ancient Near East, with active excavations in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Kazakhstan. These projects, alongside five additional initiatives in research and publication phases, advance our mission to illuminate the historical contexts of biblical narratives through archaeological discovery. Our interdisciplinary approach combines cutting-edge methodologies with traditional scholarship, creating unique opportunities for students, researchers, and collaborative partners. In addition to the research center, the LCA's comprehensive academic program offers specialized training at multiple levels—from undergraduate minors to doctoral degrees—preparing the next generation of archaeological scholars.
Dr. Thomas William Davis, beloved husband of Jennifer Davis, passed away on September 28, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee at age 68.
