Come and see the LCA's temporary new exhibit!

In honor of the Dolly Parton & the Makers: My Life in Rhinestones fashion exhibition, the Women and Beauty in the Ancient World exhibit examines the beauty practices of women in the ancient Near Eastern and Eastern Mediterranean world and will house a special display discussing the role of women in music and cultic practices. The exhibit will span about 2,000 years, from the Middle Bronze Age (c. 2000 BCE to 1550 BCE) to the Roman and Byzantine Periods. The artifacts on display are from the LCA's newest acquired collection, the LCA's standing permanent collection, as well as items on loan from private donors and sister institutions.

This is a free, self-guided exhibit located in the east wing of the Beaman Library. It is mainly situation in what is the check-in and waiting area for the Behind the Seams exhibit and so it's a great exhibit to check out if you are waiting for your Behind the Seams tour!
