Our Impact
What Students Say
"Lighthouse really helped me believe in the idea of attending college. Once in high school, it becomes a core part of what is valued and is prioritized."
"College was always mentioned [at Lighthouse]. It’s always kind of set up to be the end goal. If not for college, I’d probably have a job and not [be] pursuing anything. I actually feel like I’m moving toward something. [College is] a good way to set up your next move in life."
Our Data
Since 2009, 98% of our graduates have graduated with A-G requirements (the courses necessary to attend a California State or University of California School). In 2016, the A-G completion rate among our graduates was 100%. Lighthouse Community Charter High School was ranked by Innovate Public Schools, an independent school reform agency, as the top public high school in the Bay Area closing the achievement gap for low-income Latino students.
Given that 90% of our students are the first in their families to go to college, we are especially proud that:
88% of our graduates have been accepted to four-year colleges and universities in the eight years of graduating classes.
59% of our graduates have finished their first two years of college.
41% of our graduates have completed college with Bachelor’s degrees within six years, four times the national average for low-income students.
