Our school

LICEO G. MARINELLI, UDINE

The state scientific high school “G. Marinelli”, located in Udine, was founded, on the initiative of the Royal Commission for the extraordinary administration of the Province of Friuli, with a decree of the Ministry of Public Education dated 9th September 1923 and officially opened on 1st October 1923.

The school was named after the Italian geographer and politician Giovanni Marinelli, and, as of now, the school counts 1407 students arranged in 60 classes, and over 100 teachers. The school has several labs for Chemistry, Biology and Physics together with three Computer Rooms. Our school has a long history behind it and has been keen on recounting itself through various exhibitions of the many extracurricular groups.

Teachers, students, ordinary citizens took part in the event, interested in the history and culture of the school.

The activities of the school take place in three different buildings: the historical headquarter and the more recent branches of Via Galilei and Via Aspromonte. The latter is a modern self-sufficient building constructed according to the most advanced technologies which is going to be used as a provisional location by the schools of the city undergoing renovation. Among the buildings a garden is used by the students for recess and open-air lessons.

Also, the study plan offers the possibility to choose curricular extensions such as Mathematical-ICT (ai-si-ti) empowering;

Biology empowering with biomedical specialization in the triennium starting from next year

and a 2nd EU language (French, German or Spanish)

In addition to this, Marinelli offers a lot of different extracurricular activities to satisfy the students’ passions and interests, for example a dance group, a Gospel choir  (quaiar), a band, Drama, Photography, Archeology and Robotics clubs, Architecture workshops, Economy, ancient Greek and Neuroscience classes and the possibility to contribute to “Preludio”, the school’s magazine.

Finally, remembering that our school is turning 100 this year, we’d like to say that celebrations of the anniversary started already on 10th November with a set of activities in collaboration with the Municipality of Udine.

LICEO TALETE,

ROMA

In the current school year 2022-23, around 1100 pupils are enrolled, distributed in 44 classes. The teaching staff is made up of about 90 professors, the vast majority of them tenured and with long experience. The ATA staff is made up of about 20 elements.

In addition to the traditional scientific curriculum, the "Mathematical High School" course was launched, in collaboration with La Sapienza University.

Liceo Talete is a rigorous school for the high quality of teaching, but also full of projects and stimulating cultural initiatives: linguistic internships abroad, exchanges with European schools, participation in national competitions in mathematics and physics, active citizenship, a Latin exam, meetings with writers, collaboration with MIT, participation to hackathons and models and much more.

The institute's mission is to convey an idea of science oriented towards humanistic values, making young people aware of the protection of common goods: the environment, cultural heritage and the moral quality of society.

Sensitive to the themes of didactic innovation, in 2016-17 the Lyceum adopted the organizational model called "DADA" (didactics for learning environments): the various disciplines are located in certain classrooms, and it is therefore the students  who move from time to time . The adoption of this model was born from the need to support methodological innovation and laboratory learning.

The Institute is equipped with efficient physics, chemistry, information technology and language laboratories. About 35 classrooms are furnished with flipboards or video projectors. As far as digitization is concerned, the online electronic register was adopted some time ago, and the building was provided with both wireless and cable connections.

Above all, the great strength of Liceo Talete remains the climate of availability and personal attention towards students and families, as it is our deep conviction that the human factor and the quality of the relationship are at the heart of every authentic training project.
