“No man is an island” said Ernest Hemingway.

Each person has a different emotional intelligence and therefore their social skills vary. Each person must both recognize and name their own emotions.

The fourth student exchange took place in Toruń from 13th to 17th March 2023. The five-day meeting was attended by 25 students and 4 teachers from the school in Toruń and 5 students and 2 teachers from the school in Spain and also 5 students and 2 teachers from the school in Portugal. Students and teachers from the Italian school did not receive permission from the school authorities to participate in the meeting due to the war in Ukraine. At the same time, some meetings were held in the Italian school about the Hikikimori syndrome and social isolation. After the meeting, the schools will exchange materials prepared during the workshops and meetings and familiarize all students participating in the project with them.

The topic of the meeting in Toruń was “How to deal with loneliness and isolation in our society”. “No man is an island” said Ernest Hemingway. Each person has a different emotional intelligence and therefore their social skills vary. Each person must both recognize and name their own emotions.

During the meeting in Toruń, some workshops were organized with various groups and associations, which allowed to meet people, talk and experience being together or simply overcoming difficulties together. The agenda of the meeting differed slightly from the meetings planned in the application due to e.g. the restrictions on the activities of a given foundation or association or organizational difficulties. All workshops and activities were tailored to the profile of the meeting.
