About Our Band Program

The Liberty Union-Thurston Schools are located in Baltimore, Ohio. The District encompasses an Elementary School (K-4), a Middle School (5-8), and a High School (9-12). Our Band program currently begins in 6th grade at the Middle School with the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Bands. Students in these Bands perform several times throughout the school year as they learn basic and intermediate skills and music knowledge through playing and performing on Band instruments.

At the High School, the Band is divided into two main seasons, marching band and concert band. The Liberty Union Marching perform at many events throughout the summer and fall. You can find the Liberty Union Marching Lions at every LUHS Football game in the fall, as well as several parades, competitions or festivals, and concerts. After marching bands ends, the High School Band performs as a concert Band performing several concerts throughout the year, including OMEA Large Group Adjudicated events.
