Welcome to the Academic Supports page for Logan High School. Please review the information and links below to help answer any questions. The best source of information on academic questions will be the LHS Course Planning Guide but we tried to put together the highlights all in one place.
Advanced Placement (AP) classes are designed to offer higher-level students the opportunity to be taught academic material at the college level. An end of course Advanced Placement Examination is required with the opportunity for students to earn college credit based upon test scores. To see what courses match the AP class you take head to Transferology.
Honors courses at Logan High School are provided for students looking for above-average academic rigor designed to challenge students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
As our course offerings change yearly please look over the most recent LHS Course Planning Guide and registration sheets to help plan accordingly.

Logan High School provides students opportunities to take college courses for both high school and college credit. Through our partnership with Hocking College we are able to offer a number of courses right here in our home building. To see what courses match the CCP class you take head to Transferology.
Students must be deemed eligible to take a course, be admitted to the college, and enroll in the course through the college before certain deadlines to take advantage of this program. An informational meeting is held each winter, in preparation for the following school year. In the spring we also provide a mandatory meeting where we help students and parents through the process and make sure everything is ready for the fall.

Logan High School partners with Tri-County Career Center in nearby Nelsonville, OH. Starting their Junior year students have the opportunity to get hands on learning in a specific trade or skill which allows them to immediately enter the workforce or have a huge leg up when entering college.
All LHS students are still encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and clubs. Busing is provided to make sure they can still be members of the band, sports teams, FFA, and performing arts. Students visit Tri-County in their 8th and 10th grade years to view the facility, talk with teachers, and see just how engaging the programs there can be.
