Trade organizations offer more than a job, they offer a true career. The organizations listed below offer paid apprenticeship opportunities perfect for hands-on students. Many of these hire you on with little to no experience and offer paid on-the-job training mixed with coursework. Depending on the program it takes 4-5 years of work and training to earn a "Journeyman" status allowing you to reach the top tiers of compensation.
Logan High School has an active Business Advisory Counsel that partners with the Hocking Hills Chamber of Commerce to prepare students for jobs available right now and down the road in the community. Click on the link to see what Jobs & Internships are open now.
Logan High School partners with Tri-County Career Center in nearby Nelsonville, OH. Starting their Junior year students have the opportunity to get hands on learning in a specific trade or skill which allows them to immediately enter the workforce or have a huge leg up when entering college.
All LHS students are still encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and clubs. Busing is provided to make sure they can still be members of the band, sports teams, FFA, and performing arts. Students visit Tri-County in their 8th and 10th grade years to view the facility, talk with teachers, and see just how engaging the programs there can be.
