RRIMfoam is a brand name for a deproteinised natural rubber (NR) latex slow-recovery foam, a natural rubber "memory foam" developed by the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) as a renewable and greener alternative to petrochemical-based polyurethane memory foams. This innovative material exhibits slow-recovery viscoelastic properties, enabling it to conform gradually to the body's shape and weight.
This effectively increases the contact area and relieves pressure points, thereby preventing conditions such as bedsores or foot ulcers. Due to its therapeutic and pressure-relieving characteristics, RRIMfoam is primarily intended for use in healthcare, medical, and ergonomic products, including mattresses, pillows, automotive seats, and insoles for footwear (especially beneficial for individuals with diabetes); its production process results in ultra-low protein and chemical levels, making it a low-allergenic option.
