TARGET was launched by the Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM) in 2022 as an initiative for the rubber sector. Its main goal is to increase the income of smallholder rubber farmers — not just relying on selling unprocessed cuplump rubber in the traditional way.
This program applies the concept of integrating smallholder rubber farmers with cooperatives as well as entrepreneurs to strengthen the existing rubber supply chain and increase the price of rubber by producing a value-added product, which is cuplump.
Cuplump is good-quality rubber with minimal contamination and has a higher dry rubber content value, making it more suitable for trade. Smallholders are encouraged to participate in activities related to the production of high-quality cuplump so that collection and sales can be carried out more systematically and effectively through integrated implementation involving cooperatives and entrepreneurs.
