Lost or Stolen Devices
If you have lost your device, your first action should be:
Contact the Technology Department at your school and let them know you've lost your device. They will begin the necessary paperwork, which is the Lost/Stolen Device Reporting Form and they can also help try and locate the device.
The tech office will issue you a loaner for 2 weeks. An email will be sent to parents/guardians letting them know that your device is missing, and after two weeks, the replacement process will begin. If you find your device after getting the loaner, bring it to the technology office or building based field technician
If after 2 weeks you still cannot find your device, the Lost/Stolen Device Report Form will finish being completed (in part) by the field technician and the remainder will need to be completed by parents. Your Chromebook will need to be replaced at your cost. (This varies depending on the year, model and initial cost and depreciated value of the device.) Each situation is evaluated on a case by case basis. A Dean or Assistant principal will also contact your parents.
You will be emailed when your new device is ready.
If your device was stolen:
Call/go to the Lexington Police Department or the police jurisdiction where your device was stolen and fill out a report for a stolen item.
Come to the tech office or see the building based field technician at your school and bring them a copy of the police report. We will work to get a loaner ready for you.
A Lost/Stolen Device Report Form will be completed in part by the field technician or DLC and the remainder will need to be completed by parents. Your Chromebook will need to be replaced at your cost. (This varies depending on the year, model and initial cost and depreciated value of the device.) Each situation is evaluated on a case by case basis. A Dean or Assistant principal will also contact your parents.
You will be emailed when your new device is ready.
Lost charger:
If you have lost your charger, you can purchase a 45W USB-C charger for your device here. This USB-C charger generally works across almost all devices we are currently deploying at the middle and high school levels.
