College Admissions Testing: Your Road Map To The SAT & ACT

Please join us to learn everything you need to know about the SAT and ACT. Our speaker is Summit's Chief Ambassador Drew Heilpern, Ph.D. Drew is a testing industry expert and works closely with schools and families to help their students navigate the admissions testing process for college.

Session topics include:

- SAT vs. ACT, how they differ and how to choose

- Components of a good Test Prep Plan

- Preparing for these tests

- The role of standardized tests in the college admission process

Summit Educational Group and the New England Area Regional Representatives (NEARR) will be hosting a live college admissions panel webinar 'Behind The Curtain: An Insider’s Look at College Admissions' on December 16th at 6:30 pm. In previous years, Summit has come to LHS to present information about College Admissions tests to parents.


This webinar will include a panel of college representatives and a standardized testing expert for a discussion on how admission decisions are made and answer any questions you may have.

Have questions about financial aid? The trusted experts at MEFA are hosting FREE college financing webinars. Due to COVID, they have switched to only offering virtual options and will not be presenting at Lexington High School this school year.

Webinars will occur during both daytime and evening hours, and feature industry experts, both from within MEFA and from colleges and organizations across Massachusetts. Spanish and Chinese options are available.

9th Grade Seminar Information

Dear Class of 2025 and Teachers of 9th graders (***With particular attention to study/sem teachers***)

We are excited to kick off 9th grade seminars on October 28th! (Day 1). Students: please refer to your schedules, and where it says "Counseling Seminar 9th" that will be your NEW ROOM LOCATION beginning on the 28th and moving forward.

THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION TO THIS: If your seminar block is D3, your seminar will begin earlier, on Monday the 25th. ONLY D3 STUDENTS WILL BEGIN ON THE 25th.

ALL OTHER STUDENTS: Your seminars will begin on the 28th (or after).

If you are a student who is NOT scheduled for seminar and/or if you have seminar booked on top of another class (such as a support class) please email your counselor to let them know.

The Counseling Department will be releasing our Senior Parent/Guardian Presentation on Tuesday, September 28th

The presentation will cover material regarding post-secondary planning and the college admission process, with an emphasis on processes specific to Lexington High School, including a pre-recorded question and answer session.
