Wasted

by Cameron Brown, Junior

Decimating, desecrating

The waste sweeps through.

Tortured and constrained,

I watched the storm brew.

We’re torn apart,

We’re rent in twain.

The world collapses,

Beneath the rain.

In the wind,

Life flies in tatters.

Upon the ground,

My life blood splatters.

In the minds eye,

The horrors I behold.

Life flies by,

Terror is my mold.

But what is terror,

What constitutes fear?

Time will tell,

Time makes all clear.

And in the dead mind,

Behind dull eyes,

The human in us all

Softly cries.
