The chalk drawings outside the school of Fergus High were done by Juniors, Emily Eckhardt & Gregory Fulbright. Some passerby's coming in and out of the school for sports contributed by giving some ideas to be drawn.
Interview with Greg Fulbright and Emily Eckhardt by Elizabeth Craven:
Q. What was your inspiration for this project?
A. We were at a Lewis & Clark orientation, and Emily got the idea to welcome freshmen in a fun way to start the school year.
Q. Was anyone else involved with this project? If so, who?
A. People who were going into the school for practice would ask for pictures to be drawn, though it was just Emily and I doing most of the drawings.
Q. Which drawing was your favorite?
A. My favorite was the dill pickle which said "We're kind of a big dill." I thought it was rather entertaining. My second favorite was the F.H.S. elements, which was cleverly put together.
Q. When did you start this project?
A. The night before school began, Emily got permission from Eliot and Bennet. Later, it got cloudy and almost rained.
Q. What was the purpose for this project?
A. To mainly welcome sports, freshman, and school clubs back to school.
Q. Which part of this project was your favorite?
A. Color, as well as working with Emily.
Q. Is there any more information you want to share that we haven't already covered?
A. We sneaked in a secret hop scotch pattern to see if anyone would actually use it.
