Click here for the Year 3 Guide to Home Learning
Year 3 have had another busy few weeks. They enjoyed their sleepover, where they created their own pizzas, enjoyed playing on the field in the sunshine, cooked smores and sang songs around the campfire before watching a film to finish off the night. We also enjoyed Sports Day as well, where the children threw themselves into their races and supported each other as well. During our geography lessons, we have been exploring physical and human features of our local area and we took a walk over to the Epsom Downs, identifying these features on our way. We have completed some assessments this week in our core subjects (reading, maths, grammar) and the children have tried extremely hard. I am very proud of the effort they have put in.
Next week, the children will continue their work on perimeter in maths, looking at using their knowledge of shapes to work out the lengths and widths of shapes. During our writing lessons, we will be writing our balanced arguments linked to The Iron Man. During our geography lessons we will be looking at how our local area has changed over the years and in science, we will be making connections between our learning this year.
