This week, it has been extremely hot, but it has not stopped Polar Bears being busy, hardworking children!
Our story this week has been 'The Singing Mermaid' by Julia Donaldson, the children have worked really hard with their independent writing. We have written wanted posters for Sly Sam, speech bubbles imagining what the singing mermaid would be saying, list writing and mermaid descriptions. The children have also thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Maths week and continuing their work on maps. They have investigated maps and some even have independently drawn their own!
Polar Bears have also been busy in their DT adult focused activity this week where they have been looking at junk modelling and making a design for a boat which they will make next week. The children then had a go at labelling the different materials they will be using to make their boat. On Thursday, we walked sensibly to the post box where we posted our postcards we wrote! The children are extremely excited for them to arrive at their houses!
The heat did not stop them from working hard and the children have most definitely been thrilled to have a chance of water play this week, we even got the hose out to cool us down!
