A huge well done to Year 2 for all their hard work this term!
In Maths, we have been learning about 3D shapes. We have been naming and describing properties of 3D shapes. We also used 3D shapes to build lots of different models and structures. In Writing, we wrote our own adventure story based on our Power of Reading Text ‘Leaf’. We carefully thought about using expanded noun phrases to describe our characters and settings. In DT, we used our sewing skills to make our own pouches using felt. We designed our pouches carefully thinking about the colour and decorations we wanted on the front of our pouches. This week we have been busy learning about why and how Christians celebrate Easter. We decorated biscuits and made Easter cards. In Geography, we went on a nature walk in the playground to see the different plants and insects we could see. We then collected our data in a tally chart and represented this data on a bar chart.
Maths: In Maths, we will be learning about ‘Time’, reading the clocks to half past and o’clock.
Writing: In Writing, we will be writing instructions on how to plant a seed based on our Power of Reading Text ‘The Flower’.
Science: In Science, we will be learning about naming different parts of a plant.
History: In History, we will be learning about what a monarch is and who is in our monarch today.
RE: In RE, we will be learning about a sense of belonging and knowing where our special place is.
