In Year 4 this week, we have been continuing to explore the book 'Escape from Pompeii' by listening to more of the story and discussing how to write a persuasive letter. In maths we have been learning how to estimate by rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.
We participated in a very successful Climate Action Day which involved children from Shawley working with children from West Ashtead to learn more about how we can make a change to be more environmentally friendly.
In science we made a human lower jaw including teeth out of salt dough. We were able to identify the different types of teeth.
Next week in Tigers we will be writing a persuasive letter from the governor of Pompeii to the people who live there to convince them to leave their homes before the volcano erupted. In maths we will be starting to add 4 digit numbers with and without renaming. In science next week, we will be looking at dental hygiene and in history we will be finding about religion in Anglo-Saxon times.
