Last week we finished our instructions for washing a woolly mammoth and started our new text "Stone Age Boy" during our English lessons. We have made predictions about the story and have started to explore setting descriptions in preparation for writing their own. In maths, we have finished off our place value work and have worked on counting in 50s, 4s and 8s and have looked carefully for patterns. In science, we have continued to explore our bodies and have looked at our bones and joints. In history, we have learnt about Skara Brae - one of the best-preserved Neolithic settlements in Western Europe. In art, we have continued to explore gestational drawings using charcoal.
Next week in English we will be planning and writing our setting descriptions and moving onto thinking about non-chronological reports. In maths, we will be moving onto addition and exploring concrete and abstract methods. In science, we will be exploring the bones in our hands and in history, we will be thinking Amesbury Archer and how the Stone and Bronze Age people found food. We will also continue with our gestational drawings in art, but will be exploring how our body can make marks on the page with charcoal.
