This week we have looked at the book 'Tiddalik', where we have focused on looking at the four different sentence types as well as planning and writing our own riddles. In Maths, we have begun to look at simple addition with renaming, with the continued use of tens and ones as well as introducing the column method. In Science, we have enjoyed looking at different habitats and the animals and plants that live in each one. In History, we have found it really interesting to find out how schools have changed and looking at photos at when our parents and grandparents were at school. In art, we have used natural objects in the environment to make our own pieces of art.
Maths: We will be completing our topic on simple additions and moving on to looking at simple subtraction.
English: Looking at the story 'The day the crayons quit'.
Science: We will be looking at food chains and learn the vocabulary; predator, prey and producer.
History: We will be using all the information that we have learnt over the past few weeks to produce a piece of writing about how schools have changed over the years.
Art: To use the wax resist method to make pieces of art using leaves.
