U10 Girls' Surrey Cup vs Manor Park
On Thursday 5th October our U10 girls' made their debut on the football pitch, and they did not disappoint, with a convincing 4-0 victory over Manor Park Primary. The girls started brightly, and it wasn't long before they took the lead. The teams were evenly matched, with the ball moving from end to end, with both keepers having saves to make. Goals from Chloe (2), Eden and Saffy secured the win and put us through to the next round. The team were excellent; showing great skill, determination, and teamwork.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to our next game.
U11 Boys Surrey Cup vs Royal Russell
On Wednesday 11th October, the U11 boys' had their first fixture against Royal Russell in the Surrey Cup . The boys started brightly and took the lead in the 10th minute, with a fantastic penalty from William. However, Royal Russell equalised just before half-time. Despite working hard and showing positive signs in possession, Royal Russell got back in the game and we conceded three more goals in the final 15 minutes. The 4-1 defeat was a disappointing result, but the boys can take heart from their bright start to the game.
Ms Wallis commented - "We're obviously very disappointed with the result, especially after a fantastic cup run last year. However, 9 a side is very different. We can take heart from our performance in the first half as we played some good football and took the lead. We'll learn from our mistakes and come back stronger next time."
We look forward to our first League fixture after half term.

Sutton Schools Primary Cross Country 2023
On Thursday 12th October children from Y4-6 took part in the annual Sutton Primary Schools Cross Country at Sutton Grammar Playing Fields. The team was made up of a mix of experienced runners and newcomers, and everyone worked hard to improve their skills and build on the success from the LEO Cross Country race earlier in the term.
The team's personal triumphs with many runners achieving personal bests, and Jessie and Hannah (both Y6) qualifing for the Surrey race in November. Overall, the team showed great resilience, determination and everyone finished with a smile!
We will be involved in the North Downs Cross Country LEague which kicks off after half term with the first race at Banstead Juniors.
PE Sports Leaders
Last Tuesday, our new Sports Leaders completed a training program on how to work with younger children. The training program covered a range of topics, including playground games, behaviour strategies and safety. The sports leaders are now trained to lead a variety of games for younger children, giving children access to a variety of activities at break time. We are excited to see the sports leaders in action and to hear about the positive impact they have on younger children's sporting experiences.
Here are some of the benefits of having sports leaders working with younger children:
help to develop their sporting skills.
provide younger children with positive role models.
encourage children to have fun and enjoy sport.
develop a lifelong love of sport.
