This week's learning......
English - Over the past two weeks, Year 6 have begun their adventure into the book 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. The children have been planning a newspaper article on the mishaps and misdemeanours of Stanley Yelnats.
Maths - Year 6 have been introduced to both LBQ (Learning By Questions) and Arithmagicians where they have had the opportunity to practise their arithmetic skills.
Art - This week, our Year 6s have begun their unit on typography.
History - In our history lessons this week, the children have learnt all about the Maharaja Ranjit Singh and why he was so significant to the Sikh Empire. The children created a wonderful poster full of information about his life.
Upcoming learning......
English - Next week, we will be writing our newspaper articles and focusing on the use of direct and indirect speech.
Maths - Next week in maths we will be focusing on ordering and comparing numbers to tens of millions. We will also be learning how to round numbers.
Art - In Art the children will be exploring typography and packaging of products.
History - Over the next two weeks in history we will be learning about how Sikh beliefs and their trading impacted society.
