Click here for the Year 3 Guide to Home Learning
The children have settled well into year 3 and have been busy learning their new routines. In English, we have been reading "How to wash a woolly mammoth" and planning our own instructions. In maths, we have been exploring numbers upto 1000 and identifying the value of digits within a number. In science, the children have started their new unit "Movement and Nutrition" and enjoyed learning about exoskeletons, endoskeletons and animals with no skeletons. In history, the children have started their "Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age" unit and have been identifying how long ago are we actually talking about when discussing this time period.
Over the next few weeks, Lions will complete their instructions for washing a woolly mammoth and begin exploring our second text, "Stone Age Boy". In maths, we will continue our place value work and will be looking at counting in different multiplies from different numbers, as well as finding ten more or less than a number. In history, we will be exploring Skara Brae and identfying why this was so important and in science we will be learning about the different types of joints. In art, we will be experimenting with charcoal.
