We are really pleased at how quickly all the children have settled into Year 2 and how hard they are all working. This week we have looked at the book 'Here we Are' and have written sentences, focusing on using adjectives to describe common nouns. In Maths, we have begun to look at place value and splitting numbers into tens and ones. In Science, we have begun our topic on Living things and their habitats, focusing on things that are alive, were once alive and have never been alive. In History we have started to look at what schools were like in the past, specifically looking at photos of schools over the years and placing them on a timeline.
Maths: We will be completing our topic on place value and looking at number bonds and number patterns.
English: Looking at the story 'Tiddalik' and retelling in our own words.
Science: We will be learning about habitats and the animals and plants that live in various places.
History: We will be looking at how schools have changed since our parents and grandparents were at school.
