This week, the children have settled in well after the Christmas holidays and have already had a busy start. This week during our writing lessons we have started our new text "There's a Pharaoh in our bath" and have began collecting information about the characters. In maths, we have continued with further division and are now looking at more formal methods for dividing. In our science lessons, we have also started our new topic 'Opposites Attract' which is exploring forces and how they work. We have also started our new history topic 'Ancient Egyptians' where we explored where the Egyptians fit into history and began to learn some new information about them. We also started our swimming lessons this week and our new art topic, in which we are looking at Egyptian art.
Next week we will be creating our character descriptions during our writing lessons and moving onto length and mass in maths. In science, we will continue to explore forces and identify how objects move and how friction works. In history we will be looking at what the ancient Egyptians believed and exploring their gods and goddesses. In our re lessons, we will be exploring some of the miracles of Jesus and discussing whether they could have happened. We will also be continuing with our swimming lessons, and will be starting our cricket sessions (please note, these will now take place on a Monday) during our outdoor PE lessons, and gymnastics during our indoor PE sessions.
