Welcome back Year 2, what a great start to the Summer term!
In Maths we have been learning about ‘Time’. We have reading and drawing clocks to half past, o’clocks, quarter to and quarter past. We have also been writing the time in analogue and digital. In Writing we have been busy writing instructions on how to plant a seed based on our Power of Reading text ‘The Flower’. We remembered to use imperative words and time adverbials to ensure the instructions are in the right order. In Science, we have been learning about the conditions needed to grow a seed. We are carrying out an investigation to see what happens to the seed if one of the conditions is taken away and we will observe the seeds over the next few weeks. In History we have been learning about what a monarch is and who is in our monarch. In RE, we have been learning about a sense of belonging and drawing our special place and talking about how our special place makes us feel. As part of Earth day, we switched off all the digital devices in the classroom and we got creative drawing observational drawings of leaves and flowers and created a flower collage working in pairs.
