In English we have been reciting nature based poems such as Nut Tree by Julia Donaldson. A nature walk around the local area inspired us to write our own poems.In Science we have planted beans, looking at conditions needed for growth. In Art we are continuing our nature theme looking at artists such as Hannah Borger that include it flora and fauna  in their work. In Maths we have begun to multiply by making equal groups, double using a tens frame and divide by sharing.   IN R.E we are looking at the Jewish faith specifically the Shabbat celebrations. Please continue working through the phonics activities that have been sent home to help your child reach their highest potential in the upcoming  phonics screenings.

Maths -  Our new topic will be division. We will be focusing on grouping and sharing.

English -  We will be looking at the story 'Tidy', looking at the main characters and the problems they encountered, ready to write our own recount of the story. 

Science - We will looking at wild flowers and garden flowers.

History-  We will be continuing our topic on Explorers by learning about Christopher Columbus. 

Art - Using pastels and graphite to draw minibeasts.
