While they may have fallen short of the top spot this time around, securing second place is a significant achievement. The team's dedication and perseverance throughout the season have undoubtedly laid the groundwork for even greater success in the future. Let's extend a massive congratulations to the boys for their outstanding performance!
Despite a year of exceptional competition, the Girls team finished the season outside the top spots in the table. However, there are plenty of positives to take away.
"While we're disappointed not to challenge higher this season," said Ms Wallis, "the standard of football has been incredible. It's pushed the girls to develop tremendously, and we've seen some fantastic performances from a number of new players who have stepped up."
The influx of fresh talent is a major positive for the team and hope to be a force to be reckoned with next year.
Well done to our U11 cricket team who emerged victorious in the first hard-ball competition of the year, defeating West Ashtead by a narrow margin of 6 runs. While West Ashtead displayed impressive batting prowess, both teams struggled with wide deliveries, which ultimately proved costly in the close contest.
We progress to the 2nd round and will face Cheam Common Junior after half term.
Congratulations to our Y3 & Y4 cricket team who achieved a fantastic Runners-Up finish at the LEO Sports Reigate & Banstead Year 3 & 4 Cricket Festival last Friday!
The team displayed excellent skills, securing victories against Woodmansterne, Walton on the Hill Primary, and Furzefield. While Banstead ultimately clinched the overall championship with top-notch bowling and batting, our Y3 & Y4 players put up a great fight.
A big thank you to Chipstead, Coulsdon & Walcountians Cricket Club for providing their facilities, hospitality, and umpires who ensured the smooth running of the matches throughout the day.
This is a fantastic achievement for our young cricketers, well done!
