This week's learning......
Science - We have been learning about Living Creatures and how to classify them based on their characteristics. For our outdoor learning day, children enjoyed bug hunting focusing on sketching the bugs characteristics, making clay versions of the invertebrates and then creating classification keys on the playground to sort their clay models.
English - Children have been writing up their own version of the video 'The Present' in their books and have then been doing some creative writing tasks based on different media, allowing them to chose their own style of writing.
Maths - Children have been doing some Maths investigation tasks.
Art - Our topic this term is 'Shadow Puppets'. Children have been learning about traditional Sikh tales and started to plan designs for the puppets from these stories.
History - Children have been learning about global trading and the trading routes that were used during the Sikh Empire.
Upcoming learning......
Science - We will be carrying on with our Living Things and Classification topic, looking at plants and micro-organisms.
English - Children will be doing some creative writing about the Holocaust.
Maths - We are going to be covering some Maths topics chosen by the children as areas to recap before secondary school.
Art - Children will be creating their shadow puppets and then performing their Traditional Sikh Tales using the puppets.
