YEAR 1
YEAR 1
This week's learning.....
Year 1 have been looking at instructional writing in English, using commands beginning with 'bossy' imperative verbs to instruct our friends to do things! We have followed instructions to make paper aeroplanes and roto-copters and had great fun flying them on the playground. In Maths we have counted to 100 and partitioned two digit numbers into tens and ones. In Art we painted a meadow scene for our final piece of artwork, completing our flora and fauna unit. In Science we have been predicting which seed might grow into which plant or flower . Please look out for teddy bears coming home this week. Next half term our unit in Geography is human and physical features of the UK , so please try to photograph your bear in a variety of different places over the half term break and upload these pictures onto seesaw. These could include a beach, in the countryside, at home and at a larger building or shop. With our phonics screening check taking place after the half term, we have been making our final preparations with the children. Please take some time over the holiday to go through the phonics materials sent home.
