This week's learning......
English - We have been continuing to read 'Letters from the Lighthouse' and writing a persuasive letter trying to convince the Mayor to show kindness and understanding to the German pilot who crashed his plane near the village.
Maths - Children have been learning about area, perimeter and volume of compound shapes. We have then started working on Geometry - working out the angles of shapes.
Geography - Our topic this term is thinking about 'Where does our energy come from?' Children have been thinking about the different sources of energy, whether they are renewable or non-renewable and the benefits and drawbacks of each type.
Art - Children have been continuing with portrait work - using layers of different media to build their self-portraits.
PE - In gymnastics children have been trying paired balances.
Upcoming learning......
English - Alongside next week's practice SATS we will be recapping different areas of grammar.
Maths - We will continue with our geometry topic and will then move onto look at shape.
Geography - We will consider how the USA generates energy and compare this to how the UK generates energy.
Art - Children will be experimenting with using digital backgrounds for their portraits alongside a variety of different media.
