This week in English , the children have enjoyed looking our new text 'First to the top". We have explored diary entries and have written our own in the role as Edmund Hilary, and his journey to be the first to the summit of Mount Everest. During our Maths lessons, we have been exploring money. We have been adding money and finding change. During our geography lessons, we have also started our new topic, "Who lives in Antarctica?". We have been learning about climate zones and the physical features of Antarctica. During our science lessons, we have began to explore light. We have identified light sources and explored reflection.
Next week in our English lessons, we will continue to look at our text "First to the top" but we will be exploring autobiographies and planning and writing our own about Edmund Hillary. In maths, we will be completing some assessments to show off all of our learning this term, as well as beginning to look at time. We will be recapping 15 minute intervals and moving onto reading time to the nearest minute. In science, we will be looking at what materials cast shadows and carrying out some scientific experiments linked to shadows. In our geography lessons, we will be looking at who lives in the Antarctica and some of the physical features,m as well as thinking about what it might be like to live there.
