Year 3 have had two very busy weeks. In Maths we have started to learn about angles and we have used an angle tester to find right angles in shapes. We are beginning to recognise horizontal and vertical lines and use this knowledge to learn about parallel and perpendicular lines.
In English, we are reading the children's version of one of Shakespeare's plays: 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', and we are exploring this text through drama, describing the character's personalities and actions and we are learning to write a persuasive letter to convince the reader that the characters are acting a certain way for a reason.
This term we will be learning everything about the Tudors. We will learn about Henry the VIII and his six wives; we will also learn how they lived and what it was like to be a Tudor.
In Science we are learning about plants and how to care for them. In RE we learned about Eid, the day when Muslims celebrate the end of Ramadan, and we created a picture of the crescent moon using watercolours.
We have started our swimming lessons at Cheam Leisure Centre on Mondays. We had a great first session and we can't wait to continue next Monday. We also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Daily Mile. We love going out to run at any point of the day so we can stretch our legs and exercise.
