Year 2 have had a busy start to the summer term.
In maths, we have been revising a lot of topics that we have learnt about over the last few months. Some of these include: place value, addition / subtraction methods and data handling using pictograms / bar charts. We have also looked at a new topic of 'angles'. We primarily focused on right angles. To help us explore this topic, we created 'angle eaters' and went on an investigation around school (both inside and outside) to see if we could find any right angles. Year 2 had great fun doing this!
Both classes have also been really lucky this half term to have a cricket coach come in from Surrey Cricket to teach us some fun ways to learn how to play cricket. We even had a go at playing a mini game of cricket - hopefully we can do some more!
In our humanities and computing lessons, we looked at using a new online software on our chromebooks. This was called Nearpod. This software is an online interactive slide show presentation that allows the children to follow along with the teachers slides whilst also being able to answer questions interactively as well. The children did really well at using this software for the first time; learning made fun - well done!
