Year one has had a busy start to the Summer Term. Our maths has been all about place value with numbers up to 99. We have learned how to identify the number of tens and ones in a two-digit number and have used this information to order numbers from greatest to smallest. This week children who celebrated Eid shared their experiences and we enjoyed tasting different foods used as part of the festival's celebrations. Our Literacy book is 'The Bear and the Piano - you may enjoy listening to the story with your child by googling the title on youtube.
Our science topic this half term is 'Plants' and we drew and labeled the parts of a plant and planted a bean to watch grow over the next few weeks.
Our humanities topic is 'The enchanted woodland' and the children have started exploring maps to find a route to visit an enchanted woodland!
