It has been such a pleasure to meet the new starters in Reception and Nursery. You have all made such a great effort to come in nicely and we are beginning to set up all sorts of new routines during the school day.
This week we have been exploring the different zones of learning in our outside area. We have loved the mark making, the musical instruments and small world activities. We have made so many new friends already! We have been busy reading the stories 'Spots First Day', 'Monkey Puzzle' and 'Peace at Last' and going on sound walks to tune our ears into lots of different environmental sounds. What sounds can you hear on your walk home?
Our topic this half term is 'This is Me'. As part of this topic we are learning all about ourselves and our families. We have been finding out about all the different jobs people in our families do and also all about the different ways we celebrate key festivals.
In Nursery this week, we have been really enjoying counting songs and nursery rhymes. Can you sing '5 little speckle frogs' and jump along the lily pads? Pearl Class have also been loving the outside area! there has been so much to explore.
